From Shelter To Service: Chase's Second Chance
Some dogs are born to work, and Chase is one of them. But before he found his true purpose, he was just another abandoned soul, left behind by owners who couldn’t understand his instincts.

Chase, a driven and intelligent German Shepherd, was surrendered to the Morgan County Humane Society for simply doing what dogs do—chasing chickens. Unfortunately, instead of redirecting his energy, his previous owners gave up on him.
The shelter staff saw something special in Chase. They knew he wasn’t meant for a life behind bars, slowly fading due to kennel stress. They worked tirelessly, meeting with us after hours—on their own time—because they believed Chase deserved a second chance. They were right.
Now, Chase is thriving. He’s found his purpose and wears his new role with pride. As a narcotics detection, tracking, and article detection K9, Chase has transformed from an overlooked shelter dog into a dedicated working partner. His signature “prancing paws” move after every drug find has made him a fan favorite, and his enthusiasm is infectious.
Welcome to the Thin Blue Line, Chase. Your journey is just beginning, and we know you’re going to make an incredible impact with your new role at the Bargersville Police Department.
