Background
Redemption Ranch K9 is a nonprofit organization with a mission to rescue shelter dogs and transform them into highly trained working K9s for police departments that otherwise couldn't afford one. Based in the heart of Indiana, Redemption Ranch K9 is a labor of love from first responders, dog trainers, and everyday people who believe in second chances—for dogs and for communities.
We specialize in pairing overlooked shelter dogs with experienced handlers and trainers to create purpose-driven working partners. These K9s are then donated to law enforcement departments across the Midwest, enhancing public safety while proving that every dog deserves a job and a home.
Whether it’s narcotics detection, tracking, or therapy and crisis response, our K9s go from abandoned to invaluable—all while creating a ripple effect of hope and redemption.

FAQ
What kind of dogs do you rescue?
We focus on medium- to large-breed shelter dogs with high energy, strong drive, and potential for working roles—traits that often make them difficult to place in typical homes but perfect for police work.
What kind of training do the dogs receive?
Each dog goes through a rigorous training program with professional handlers in obedience, tracking, detection, or therapy work, depending on their temperament and department needs.
How much does it cost a department to get a dog?
$0. That’s the mission. Redemption Ranch K9 provides the dog, training, gear, and ongoing support entirely free to qualifying departments.
Where do you operate?
We are based in Indiana but serve departments throughout the Midwest—and growing.
How can I help?
We rely on donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Individuals can sponsor a K9, donate gear, or support training costs. Businesses can sponsor events or co-brand with us to fund K9s for communities in need.
Are your dogs safe and healthy?
Absolutely. Every dog is evaluated by a licensed veterinarian before, during, and after training.
